A Touch of Mangala to the Chess Area

The chess area within the Faculty of Sport Sciences at Bartın University has been enriched with the creative efforts of our students. As part of their coursework, students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports designed original Mangala games, which have now been integrated into the chess area, forming a new “Mangala Zone.”

This initiative aims to promote Mangala, a traditional Turkish strategy and intelligence game, while preserving cultural heritage and encouraging wider student engagement. The newly designed space offers an educational and interactive environment that fosters both learning and social interaction.
